'til the po-po shut us down

Well it's official! I am now 21. It doesn't really feel different, but it is weird to think that I am getting so old. I had a pretty relaxing day and it was very enjoyable. It started on thursday night when Dayna and Lindsey took me to the SafetySuit/Parachute concert. It was VERY enjoyable. We discovered this great band, The Rouge, and made friends with lots of people standing by us. Concerts continue to be very satisfying for me. There is something about being so close to the people who make the music you love, and if you are lucky enough to be SUPER close and maybe lock eyes with one of the band members, there is magic. It just can't really be explained, it just has to be experienced. Friday I woke up and went shopping for party stuff with my roommate Liz. This year I had a dollar store birthday party, so we bought mostly everything at HonK's, our local dollar store. It turned out to be VERY good. Party planning on a budget. After cleaning and setting up some Sarah, Liz and I went to J-Dawgs for lunch. Then the real fun began.

My party was indescribable. So many good things happened and here are some of the highlights...

*SO many people I love concentrated in one area

*Amazing sound system, which made for a GREAT dance party

*Me actually dancing on a chair this year, simply because my dad thought I was dancing on a table last year...
*The cops coming and shutting down my party because of the noise. ridic.
(Me talking to the Cop)

*Some fool in my ward having a dance party and trying to upstage my party. Seriously dude? Just let me celebrate my freaking birthday. He came over trying to get us to go to his party. No thanks!

*People actually brought me presents! I have some of the best friends EVER!!!

*Most of my friends from work just hanging out in the kitchen because dance parties aren't really their thing. So funny.

Big shout out to my roommate Liz. She did SO SO much to help me make this party a success. I could not have done it without you dear! Thanks so much!

Now I am off to play with my BFF Jaimie Lyn Tanner. Birthday festivities continued!

Heartbeats

I am having a very weird texting conversation with some guy right now. I don't know if said man actually exists, but somehow he had my name (first AND last) and phone number in his phone. weird. And we cannot figure out how we know each other. This is a mystery that must be solved. Brian Thompson, I will figure out why you have my number! Anyway, back to real life.

So my birthday is on friday and I am pretty excited. 21 is not that big for me as I don't really do any of the things that become legal for people of that age. But I am still stoked just because I love birthdays. Anyone's birthday. Of course I am having a killer party and this year I am going to do a dollar store party. Yup, everything for my party, decoration, food, EVERYTHING, is going to come from the dollar store. I am excited to get creative with this and I think it will be a lot of fun. So please come party with me on friday night!

School and work are killing me. This week was nice because monday was a holiday so I had some extra time to do homework and whatnot, but of course I still waited until the last minute. This was a good weekend though and everything will work out. Work is still stressing me out, just not as much as it used to. In general life is very good. I have so many things to look forward to concerning the next few months and I have a lot of really exciting opportunities so I can't really complain.

Mitchell has been learning to play the ukulele for the past little while and he has gotten quite good. He has learned some of my favorite songs so we have started recording him playing them and me singing them. Okay we have only recorded one but there are going to be more and I am so excited! I have been wanting to be singing more regularly and this might give me the chance. Maybe I will actually learn the guitar and then we can perform at Muse or something. That would be pretty tight.

can't read my p-p-p-polaroid?

I am glad that my technology rss feed lets me know about big important updates in the technology world. Like Lady Gaga being named the new creative director of Polaroid.

Click here for more on that story...

Only one more day of class this week! Woot! And no more work for this week. Hopefully I will get a chance to visit the bindery tomorrow or friday. I a little bit miss that place. I am LOVING this song currently. I just can't get enough of it or the music video.

you break your neck to keep your chin up

Day two of school and already I have a headache and want a break... This has been a packed two days and hopefully things settle down in a little while. I think the hardest thing is having 3 hour classes. Seriously people, it is torture. Even my two hour class is going to be a struggle. So let's go back to monday.

3:10 am - wake up to get ready for work (No I am not kidding)
3:58 am - Arrive at work, thanks to my roommate Liz who gave me a ride
8:00 am - 11 am - Class, consisting of a TEE class and Mission Prep
12 am - 2 pm - Work... again
Then my afternoon/evening was grocery shopping with Dayna, making dinner, making treats for FHE, attending FHE and hanging out with my friend who was not allowed to move into his apartment until today. So by the time I went to bed I had been awake for 22 hours. My body is still making me pay for that. That also resulted in my incapability to get up on time for class this morning. Starting the semester out right... So I was able to make up on lost sleep and get to work by 11. Then at 2 I had one of those three hour classes, in which, we made a movie. And yup, you guessed it! I was cast as the main character. The movie is about a student (me) that cheats on one of her test and then all of these bad things happen to her (spraining her ankle, vending machine on the fritz, and getting hit by a car.) Let's just say I will have a lot of bruises. Ouch.

Hope the new year is going well for all of you! I decided to not make New years resolutions and to just make semester goals this time around. Hopefully if they are short term that will help me remember better and be more motivated. Also, here is a picture of my new
haircut. Hope you all enjoy!
